The Bayeux Tapestry : The World's Oldest Comic Strip

Tuesday, 11th February 2020

at St George's School, Ascot.

Reception from 7:00 pm.

The lecture commences at 7:45 pm

As we have probably learnt in school, 1066 was an important date in England’s history.  However, the reasons behind this event may not have been remembered so well.  To help us follow the story as depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry, Eveline Eaton, our lecturer, will take us through the historical, cultural and artistic details. Eveline is a graduate of the Courtauld Institute and has a diploma from the Study Centre for the History of Fine & Decorative Art.
